Cut yourself off mentally from ulterior motives, and also permit no one else to take advantage of you.

Six in the second place: . . . noses have they, but they smell not (Psalms 115:6). To smell in the symbolism of the Bible is to practice discernment, i.e., you separate the wheat from the chaff, the good from the evil, and adhere to that which is lovely and of good report. Stand firm for that which you know to be right and good.

Six in the third place: . . . my meat is to do the will of him that sent me . . . (John 4:34). The word "meat" in the Bible means the qualities, powers and attributes of God. Meditate on courage, faith, confidence, joy, love and goodwill—this is the meat of Heaven. If you chew on ill will, bitterness, hostility and anger, you should be aware that these emotions are poisonous and tend to debilitate your entire organism. Keep away from all mental poisons and exalt God in the midst of you.

Nine in the fourth place: . . . / have meat to eat that ye know not of (John 4:32). There is an Invisible Power and Presence always available to you. Be firm and persevere. Realize and know that an Almighty Power is backing you up. You will be inspired and guided in all ways, and experience fulfillment of your heart's desire.

Six in the fifth place: But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil (Hebrews 5:14). It is necessary for you to assume the role of emotional and spiritual maturity. Never yield to that which is false. Be faithful to the truth, while realizing that what's right action for you is right action for everyone.

Nine in the sixth place: And they shall turn away their ears from the truth ... (II Timothy 4:4). Any time you refuse to listen to the Truth of Being and insist on having your own way, you will get into trouble and experience loss and failure.
